ÖRESUNDSBRON invigdes sommaren år 2000 - för 10 år sedan. Bron är 8 km lång över havet + 8 km i land-förbindelser, mer än 200 meter hög och tillsammans med Turning Torso ett landmärke i det nya moderna Malmös skyline. Från Malmö når du centrum av Köpenhamn på någon halvtimme, och ännu snabbare och smidigare kommer det att gå när Citytunneln invigs i december. Många menar att Malmö blivit mycket större nu när det är så lätt att ta sig till den nya stora "stadsdelen" Köpenhamn. Och bron i sig själv är väldigt spännande att utforska - under ifrån. Har du möjlighet att cykla ut till bron så tar det ungefär en halvtimme via trevliga Limhamn och Sibbarp (som du kan stanna till och upptäcka på vägen). Framme vid bron kan du cykla eller promenera under bron och på andra sidan titta ut över Lillgrund vindkraftpark. Denna är världens tredje största, består av 48 stycken vindkraftverk, ligger 10 km ut i Öresund och invigdes av Kungen sommaren 2008. Och här, söder om bron, kan du även blicka ut över Bunkeflo Ängar som är ett naturskyddsområde med unik flora och fauna. Vill du ta dig runt området till fots finns en promenad-slinga som är 3 km lång och du har då chansen att få syn på såväl sällsynta arter som kvickgräsfjäril och dansk iris.   THE ÖRESUND BRIDGE was opened in the summer of 2000 - ten years ago. The bridge is a total of 16 kilometers long, half over the sea and half in the land and tunnel connection. It's more than 200 meters high, and together with the Turning Torso, the bridge is a landmark in the increasingly modern skyline of Malmö. Thanks to the bridge, it only takes about a half an hour to reach Copenhagen from Malmö, and this will be even faster and easier when the City Tunnel is opened in December. It's a common thought among Malmoites that the city has become much larger now that it's so easy to reach Copenhagen, the new big "suburb of Malmö." The bridge itself is really exciting to explore - from underneath. Here, from under the bridge, you can take a cycle tour to the quaint villages of Limhamn and Sibbarp in under 30 minutes - and there's lots to see along the way. At the bridge, you can cycle or stroll on the excellent paved pathways, and on the south side, view the Lillgrund windmill park 10 km out in the sea. This is the world's third largest such park, with 48 windmills, inaugurated by the king in the summer of 2008. Also here, south of the bridge, you can look over the Bunkeflo fields, which is a protected natural area with unique flora and fauna. If you want to walk around the area, there is a lovely paved 3 kilometer long path. On your walk, you'll have the chance to see such rare species as  the Speckled Wood (Pararge aegeria)  butterfly and Danish Iris.
